03/04/19 (Week 1)
Briefing

There was no lecture given as it is the first day of this class. Instead, we were introduced to this module and what are the projects we'll be doing throughout the semesters.

10/04/19 (Week 2)
Lecture 1

In this class, we got to learn about the history of brand. It is said that brands have been around for a long time, and used as an identifier for ownership. We also got to look into the development of a brand through a diagram shown in the slides. Several logos from various brands were also shown.

03/04/19 (Week 1)

In the first class, we were introduced to this project, which requires us to create a presentation based on three questions were about brand, brand identity and branding. In addition to that, we needed to do a case study on a brand of our choice. We have one week to do our research and prepare our slides for the presentation.

FEEDBACK

General feedback: In our slides, it would be good if we included more visuals, to look at how these visual points represent the brand. We should also look at different aspects of the brand, and not just focus on the logo. 

Specific feedback: As for my presentation, it was articulate and organised. The content presented was also clear and followed a logical sequence. It was good that I chose Disney for my case study as everyone knows about the brand. However, it would be better if I discussed about Disney and its sub-brands in my slides, since it is such a big brand. 




REFLECTION

EXPERIENCE
Through this first project, I got to learn more about what brands are all about which is a good start to this module. I also found my case study on the brand Disney to be interesting to do research and read up on, since it is a successful brand that's been around for decades.

OBSERVATION
I observed that I spent way too much time doing my research, which resulted in myself getting overwhelmed with all the information I found. However, doing all the research and compiling it in a google docs really made it easier when I wanted to pick out information to put in my presentation slides.

FINDINGS
After this project, I found that I have a much better understanding on what brand, brand identity and branding is about, which is important for us to know about. I also have a larger appreciation of brands, after seeing all the efforts that gets put into their brand ideals and marketing strategies that makes them so successful.

The back of this book states that creating a logo is always a process and it is always the result of reason and emotion. In the contents of this book, you will find many different logos and its application, along with the brand and a description of what it's about. I found this book to be interesting to look through. I'm always up for gaining more inspiration, and maybe this book can spark some inspiration.
